- How to assemble the 5 piece Swiss broom handle? To get the 5 pieces of the Swiss broom handle very well attached, you would stick all 5 pieces together. Watch out for the end pieces! Then hold the handle upside down with the end of the broomstick towards the floor and the thread towards the ceiling. Lift the broom handle a little bit (maybe 10 - 15 inches) and let the end of the broom handle fall to the ground (concrete or tile works best), securing it with the hand so that it stays vertical and won't tip over. Repeat this "knocking the pieces together" procedure a few times and the pieces will fit very tight and secure.
